Do I need a special software program or cutting machine
to use your patterns?
No, special
software is not needed. Although we include files for use with most
of today's popular cutting machines, these patterns can also
be printed and traced onto cardstock and then cut with
scissors.
For
Handcutting: Each pattern file is created & saved as a
printable PDF which opens with Adobe Reader. This format
makes it easy to transfer the pattern pieces onto cardstock
and hand cut each piece with your favorite scissors.
Adobe Reader is already installed on most computers or you
can download it for free by clicking here.
For
Cutting Machines: Your cutting machine typically comes
with the software required to open or import one of these
file types:
AI - DXF - GSD - KNK - SVG - WPC
This makes it possible to cut using the following machines:
Cricut (with SCAL) Wishblade, Sillouette, Klic N Kut, Craft
Robo, Pazzles and more.
Cricut is
the only cutting machine that requires additional software
called "Sure-Cuts-A-Lot" to cut these files and other files
from your computer. To find out more about this terrific
software visit craftedge.com

What is a dxf, svg, knk, pdf, pdf cut, eps, wpc file?
These are
the file name extensions for the formats we include for
every pattern. A file extension is usually three to
four letters set apart from the rest of the file name by a
period. These file extensions will be seen like this
"filename.svg"
The file
extension tells the computer which computer program to use
to open the file.
Downloading
Patterns
All of the
patterns will have cart buttons. When you click the cart
button, that pattern is added to your shopping cart. When
you are done shopping you can click the "view cart" button
that is located at the top of every page and checkout/pay
for your purchase.
When your
payment is complete, you will receive an email within
minutes, from myscrapchick. In that email will be links that
you simply click on to begin the download of your files.
Save the files to your computer. You can download the file 5
times within 72 hours. After 5 attempts or 72 hours
(whichever comes first) the link expires, so be sure to
complete your download & save the files to your computer
within that time.
We recommend
creating a special folder in "my documents" named "MSC" or
"myscrapchick" to make it easy to locate you purchased files
as well as the Freebie Fridays. But ultimately you should
choose the location that works best for you.
We highly
recommend you download and save your files immediately. The
download links expire within 72 hours (3days). IMPORTANT
NOTE: We cannot reactivate expired links after 30 days.
Freebie Friday files will not be resent when they expire but
will available for purchase on the Dollar Download page for
$1.
Yes, you are
given 5 attempts to download your pattern within 72 hours.
No. All
purchases on this website are for downloads only.
We do not
sell the CDs from this website. You can, however, purchase
the full collections on CD on our eBay site. Please note:
FULL COLLECTIONS ONLY are available on CD from eBay and you
will be charged additional shipping fees. Singles, mini
collections and printables are ONLY available by download.

Why can’t I “open” a file?
The most
common reason for not being able to open a file is that it
has not been UNZIPPED. The pattern downloads come as a ZIP
file. Zipped files contain multiple files that have been
compressed to make downloading easier and faster. Once
downloaded they have to be UNzipped (aka:uncompressed/extracted) in order to use them.
When a file
is unzipped a NEW folder is created with all the unzipped
contents. This new folder will contain the files for your use.
-
What do you mean by "un-zip" or "extract" the files?
See answer
above, "Why can't I 'open' a file?"
-
How do I un-zip a file?
All the
files from myscrapchick.com come in .zip files. This
makes it possible for us to include all the different
file types in one download and also takes much less time
for you when downloading.
You will
need to UNZIP the files before using them.
To do
this in Windows XP, right click on the zipped folder
and select "Extract all..." and follow the instructions
in the windows. (Extract & Unzip mean the same thing.)
For
other computers you will need to use an Unzip utility
such as Winzip or
FilZip.
-
Can I back up my pattern files on a CD?
You can back
up your files on CD or USB drives for your own personal use.
In fact, we recommend it. Please note, however, that files
cannot be redistributed and shared with others.
We regret to
have to tell you that we can only
re-activate download links for purchases made in the last 30
days. If you need to
contact us concerning a prior purchase, please be sure to
include your name, email address used, product and date of
purchase. We reserve the right to charge additional fees to
re-issue files older than 30 days.
Shopping
Cart Questions and Issues
We use
PayPal to process Visa, Mastercard, American Express,
Discover and e-check payments. PayPal membership is
not required to use this payment method. It is actually one
of the safest methods for paying online as your credit card
information is not shared with sellers.
It's a
security measure required by PayPal. This is
not a requirement however to get the Freebie Friday files.
We do not share any of your personal information with anyone
else. Also, online merchants using PayPal will never see
your account information.
Occasionally
we get reports of this problem. You can report any problems
with the shopping cart by sending an email to
info@myscrapchick.com
Include the items or checkout pages involved in the issue.
We greatly appreciate your sharing with us any problems you
may encounter with this site.
Newsletter &

You can also sign up by going to the
Freebie Friday page. While
you're there you may get a peek at what's coming this next Friday.
The
newsletter goes out only on Fridays. You may have missed the
last issue but you will receive this coming Friday's issue
with a link to the free download. All previous Freebie
Friday patterns are available on the
Dollar Download page for
$1.
1. Check
your spam folder.
2. Add
newsletter@myscrapchick.com to your address book or safe
list.
3. Try signing up again. Sometimes people enter an incorrect
email address the first time.
Absolutely!!!
We prefer
that you forward a copy of the newsletter to them, and allow
them to visit our site and download their own pattern. It
helps us know which pattern styles & designs are most
popular. AND...allow
us to be honest and straight forward here...We send out the
free pattern files in hopes that you will visit our site
often.
Although, NO purchase is ever necessary to receive your free
pattern each week, the Freebie Friday newsletter is our chance to
show you (and your friends) all the new pattern designs
being added to the site.
We're sorry..but...no. The free file is only available for one week. It's
our way of keeping you coming around on a regular basis.
However, we do add all of the previous freebies to the
Dollar Download page so if there's one you missed
and really want to have it, you might
check for it on there. Expired Freebies are only $1.00
